Arthur Merdinian Secures City of Olivette Council Seat
Architect with St. Louis-based Consolidated Design & Construction Group will serve 3-year term

OLIVETTE, Mo.—April 8, 2010—Arthur Merdinian, a registered architect and principal at Consolidated Design & Construction Group (www.itswherelifehappens.com), a nationally recognized award-winning design/build remodeling firm, has been elected to serve as a City of Olivette council member. Merdinian’s term begins immediately and runs for three years.
In addition to his new role as a council member, Merdinian also holds an appointed position as chairman of the Building Code Review Committee for St. Louis County. Additionally, he serves the community as an active, appointed member on the Olivette Planning and Community Design Commission which he represents on the Long Range Facilities Task Force.
Merdinian’s first priority as a city council member is to evaluate the City’s current facilities in order to help implement a plan to make sure Olivette maintains the highest level of law enforcement, fire protection and administrative services that citizens have come to expect. “My role will consist of objective assessments of our City’s government, commercial and residential sectors in order to ensure the City of Olivette not only remains in the center of it all, but develops as an active, thriving community,” says Merdinian. “Following a set of established parameters will allow economic, environmental and recreational sustainability for future generations.”
Merdinian studied architecture at Hobart College (BA, 1987) and Columbia University School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (1985-1986). He continued his studies at Washington University in St. Louis (Master of Architecture, 1991). Merdinian resides in Olivette with his wife and three children
